Events and Exhibitions at Pompeii

This page lists events and exhibitions at the Pompeii Archaeological Park, with what is coming up kept apart from what has already happened. It is built from the Park’s own pages and notices and was last checked on 28 October 2026. This is an independent guide, not the Park’s website: for tickets, opening hours and last-minute changes, use pompeiisites.org.

The Park’s Events page currently shows one future event, Simply Red in July 2027, plus an archive of 2026 concerts. The other items below come from the Park’s separate event pages, service notices and tickets page. Where an item comes from outside the Park, it says so.

Upcoming and ongoing

Philip Colbert in Pompeii: Pop Mythology, 27 July to 30 November 2026

Over 30 lobster sculptures by the pop artist Philip Colbert stand among the ruins of Pompeii and at satellite sites: the Villa of Poppaea (Oplontis), Boscoreale, Villa San Marco and Villa Arianna. The dates, title and sites come from the artist’s own announcement; some listings call the show “Mythology of Pop”. We did not find a page for it on the Park’s website, so the end date and any ticket conditions are not confirmed by the Park.

Free entry on Sunday 1 November and Wednesday 4 November 2026

In a notice of 21 October 2026, the Park says that on Domenica al Museo (1 November) and the National Unity and Armed Forces holiday (4 November) its sites are open with free entry. The sites named are Pompeii, the Villa of Oplontis, the Stabia Archaeological Museum, Villa Regina and the Antiquarium of Boscoreale, and the Villas of Stabiae. The notice sends visitors to the Park’s hours and tickets page for entry times and gives no other conditions. That page also mentions a daily visitor limit and named tickets, so check it before you go. Free days are busy: arrive at opening, 9:00.

First Sunday of the month: 6 December 2026 and 3 January 2027

The Park’s tickets page lists a free ticket on the first Sunday of every month. The two dates above are calculated from that rule; the Park has not yet published notices for them, so confirm before each date.

Simply Red, Summer Funk ’27: Tuesday 27 July 2027, 21:00 to 23:30

A concert in the Amphitheatre of the Excavations, part of the Beats of Pompeii season, listed on the Park’s event page with the Park as organiser. Presale ran on 23 and 24 September 2026 and general sale started on 25 September 2026 on Ticketone.
